Jonathan Greenyer - that's me. I have been painting all my life but in earnest for the last ten years.
I am an abstract colourist. That means to most people my work looks like random daubings and childish rubbish
(quote) but let me tell you it takes a lot of effort to acheive those high levels of critical acclaim. I can and do
produce "real art" and admire people who have the patience and interest in reproducing yet another landscape or
bunch of flowers.
I paint from the heart and use the latest acrylic paints and inks and a sense of exploration
at all times. I often start with a blank canvas and no notion of what I will do or where the painting will end up.
That generally means that titles and explanations are difficult. I can see the influences might have been a puddle,
a tree or a football match, but the end result is often unrecognisable as such.
Never mind, a lot of people have
encouraged me through positive comments, tuition, and buying my work - that must be the ultimate accolade.
